Headteacher’s Welcome

I am extremely privileged to be the Headteacher of St Joseph’s Catholic Nursery and Primary School.

St Joseph’s is a welcoming and caring school at the heart of the local community here in Stanley. Children, parents and staff are proud of our school, and we place great value on looking after one another. Our dedicated staff team works tirelessly to ensure that every child is known, valued and supported to flourish, both academically and personally.

We offer an ambitious and engaging curriculum across all year groups, designed to motivate children, develop curiosity and broaden interests. Alongside this, our strong links with the local parish and wider community allow us to nurture the spiritual development of our pupils and live out our Catholic values each day.

As a Catholic school, we warmly welcome children of the Catholic faith as well as those from other faith traditions. As part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, we benefit from working in close partnership with other schools who both support and challenge one another to maintain high expectations for staff and pupils alike.
